Service League presents 20th annual 'A Taste of Camarillo'

The Meadowlark Service League offers all the chance to raise their wine glasses in support of Ventura County charities beginning at 1 p.m. and going until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 27. At the event, participants may taste more than 100 varieties of wine, beer and cider, as well as the good fortune of enjoying gourmet food provided by more than 50 local restaurants.
The event will take place on the lawns of the historic Camarillo Ranch at 201 Camarillo Ranch Road, Camarillo. There will be a silent auction and an opportunity drawing for $1,000 in cash. Entertainment will be provided by both Jeanne Tatum & Company and Bryan McCann and the Grooveheads.
There will also be a pre-event Dinner and Live Wine Auction Gala on Saturday, July 26, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Camarillo Ranch. This special event includes a reserve and rare wine auction and special wines, including the 2008 official A Taste of Camarillo wine, Michael-David, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Suggested attire includes jackets and sweaters for warmth. Please make your reservations early since seating is very limited.
The Meadowlark Service League has announced that Creekside Executive Center, being developed by Opus West Corporation and CB Richard Ellis, will be the Champagne Sponsor of this 2008 A Taste of Camarillo. Joining the league in its efforts as Cabernet Sponsor of the event is Steve Thomas BMW.
The fundraiser is sponsored by the Meadowlark Service League, a nonprofit group of women dedicated to raising funds for local charitable organizations and programs. More than $2 million has been raised since the inception of MSL in 1971. The funds have been distributed to local charities including the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo, Hospice, The Camarillo Ranch Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, YMCA, Food Share, St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and many others.
Tickets for A Taste of Camarillo Sunday event are $65 in advance and $75 at the door if available. Tickets for the Saturday evening Dinner and Live Wine Auction Gala are $50 and a Weekend Pass for both events is $100.
