The Ventura County Fair has announced that the dates for the 2008 Ventura County Fair will be Wednesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 10.
“When summer is upon us it is time for the Ventura County Fair to begin,” said Bob Guillen, president of the Fairgrounds’ Board of Directors. “We want everyone to enjoy the opportunity to attend the Fair and continue Ventura County’s biggest family tradition, full of fun, learning and excitement.”
The Ventura County Fair highlights the county’s history, culture and agriculture, providing hands on learning experience for young and old, helping to develop a strong sense of community while promoting agriculture at the same time.
This year the Ventura County Fair is celebrating its 133rd year. The 12 day Fair kicks off in July with attractions including farm animals, fireworks, interesting exhibits, competitions and displays to entertain all fair enthusiasts as well as performances by some of the biggest names in entertainment. Midway rides, games of skill and mountains of mouth watering food are on.
Save time, money and gas by taking one a free shuttle or Metrolink. Ride to the front gate with no driving hassles and no parking nightmares. Free shuttles leave regularly from the County Government Center, Ventura High School, Pacific View Mall, Harbor Blvd. at Schooner Drive and State Beach. On weekends, Metrolink service will leave from Chatsworth, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo and Oxnard. Shuttle stops are listed on the Website: www.venturacountyfair.org.
Special Admission Days will save on your family’s admission to the Fair. Dollar Days are both Wednesdays; get in for $1 until 3pm. Youth get in free on Youth Day; Friday, August 1. Seniors and persons with disabilities get in free on Tuesday, August 5. Military get in free on Thursday, August 7!
Carnival Wristband Days; Thursday, July 31, Monday, August 4, Tuesday, August 5, Thursday, August 7. Wristbands are sold from 11am until 6pm for $25. Good for unlimited Carnival Rides until 7pm.

Directions from Los Angeles
The Ventura County Fairgrounds are located on the beach in the city of Ventura, about 1 hour north of Los Angeles. From the Ventura Freeway (Highway 101) northbound, take the Seaward Ave. exit or the California Street exit. Turn left towards the ocean to Harbor Blvd., turn right on Harbor and continue until you reach The Ventura County Fairgrounds at the corner of Harbor and Figueroa.
Directions from Santa Barbara
The Ventura County Fair is located on the beach in the city of Ventura, about 1 hour north of Los Angeles and about 30 minutes south of Santa Barbara. From the Ventura Freeway (Highway 101) southbound, take the Seaward Ave. exit, make an immediate right on Harbor Blvd. and proceed to Ventura County Fair at Seaside Park.
